Westgen Signs Strategic Agreement with Carbon Credit Developer

Westgen Technologies Inc is pleased to announce a strategic agreement has been signed with Blue Source Canada ULC. This partnership allows Westgen to offer reliable turn-key carbon credit services to customers of the EPOD and AirPOD.

Bluesource is a trusted carbon credit developer which is currently executing Alberta’s largest pneumatic controller retrofit program in the oil & gas sector. This program will yield roughly 3 million tonnes CO2e of high-quality reductions before the end of 2022 and conserve enough gas to supply the city of Airdrie on an annual basis, making it one of the largest new greenhouse gas reduction projects in the province of Alberta.

Westgen helps Producers eliminate methane emissions from pneumatics on wellsites. The Westgen EPOD integrates power generation, instrument air compression, and the customers control centre into a single shop fabricated module to make instrument air available without increasing capital costs compared to today’s designs. The EPOD is designed as an integrated solution to eliminate methane venting and generate carbon credits under the Alberta Government’s Quantification Protocol for Greenhouse Gas Emission Reductions from Pneumatic Devices for both new well sites or retrofit applications in Alberta. In most applications the EPOD will pay off it’s capital cost in one to two years. Westgen also offers the AirPOD, an integrated instrument air and carbon credit solution for wellsites with access to grid power.

With the support of Bluesource, Westgen now offers it’s customers a turn-key carbon credit solution including aggregation, development, and monetization of carbon credits.
